Looking for some help on my clownfish. I’ve had her in my display for about 6 months. She was in QT for a month before that. Yesterday she was fine, pigging out on frozen food. However, today she won’t eat anything I put in the tank and appears to be struggling a bit. I don’t see any outward signs of disease on her. I did notice some small amount of white poop which of course makes me suspect internal parasites. The rest of the fish in the tank appear fine at this time.

If this is internal parasites what can I do if she refuses to eat? I’ve got general cure, metroplex and some kanaplex on hand (as well as focus.) also a QT tank I can setup with plenty of cycled media in my sump. Should I try moving her to QT and dose the water to see if that can knock whatever it is back enough to get her eating medicated food? What combo of medication would I try for that?

Parameters are what they typically are
Temp 78
SG 1.026
0 ammonia
4 nitrate
Phosphate .021
Alk 9.8 dkh

Last additions to the tank were a few frags I got from MACNA on September 1st.

Here is a video of the clown is acting right now.

It’s possible you introduced something with the new frags. Nothing in that video sticks out at me. It could be internal parasites based on the white stringy poop. The other thing is if it is something like brook it would be very hard to see since the fish is mostly white.

I would medicate food with GC + focus and also dose the water with metro if it were me. Once the fish is moved to a QT of course!

Yea in the video it’s hard to tell anything. I will say looking at her in person with a magnifying glass she doesn’t look any differently than she usually does so I don’t see anything on her body.

I’ll go ahead and setup my QT tomorrow with display water and move her. Hopefully some metro in the water will fight whatever it is off enough to get her eating again so I can medicate her food.

What is the dose of General Cure and focus for food? I know with metroplex it’s 1:1. Just fill a metroplex scoop with GC? Entire pouch?

Same dosage.
1 scoop focus
1 scoop GC (using the focus scoop)
Added to 1 tablespoon of prepared frozen food.

So last night I got her into QT and dosed with metro. Today I made some medicated food with GC focus and frozen brine shrimp and she’s eating it. So hopefully she’s well on her to way to recovery.

would it be wise to feed the fish in the display with medicated food for 10 days as well?

What else is in the DT? Fish, corals, inverts?
