I got a clownfish from a LFS and didn’t QT it

Gave my clownfish a huge bump on his tail
Yesterday it was red
This morning it’s open like a popped zit

I’ve dosed metro and kannaplex and running cupramine

Am I going to lose the tail ?

Can you upload a pic? Sounds like a bacterial infection.

Could also be uronema.

The only symptom on the host is it has weird stuff coming off the mouth sorta like some tang mouth problem I’ve seen floating around
Maybe like a twit is growing inside the mouth
What to do help

Oh and the clownfish with the twig in the mouth his tail turned dark grey
It looks worse in person more reddish

The bump is under the skin seems like it is maybe now open or just very red . Sorry for the cruddy photo

When I google search uronema I don’t see any lumps under the red patch ?

+1 @HotRocks Agreed. Sounds like Uronema. Here's the bad news. The tank now has it and can only be eliminated by draining and sterilizing. Sorry. For the fish, you said you are running metro, so that's good. Copper also can work on Uronema. And you can dose them together. Uronema is a very difficult disease to deal with. The only other suggestion is to consider adding is to also give the fish a bath in an acriflavine product like Ruby Reef Rally. 75-90 minutes in temperature matched water.

Should I take them out of my biocube as it has sponges in the back as my filters ? Should I put them in a 10’gallon tank instead ??

Should they go in a 10gallon with just air stone or sponge as well ? Thank you

Antibiotics are best applied in as sterile an environment as possible, to limit biodegradation. So, if your biocube has been setup for awhile it would be best to utilize a 10 gal QT with just an air stone or sponge, plus a heater/thermometer.

My favorite people - just wanted to give an update on the snowflake ! The tail swelling started to go down yesterday or so. The thing coming out of the tail either fell off or sucked back in O_o
At one point I was sure we were going to lose the whole tail !
I hope I didn’t jinx myself by making this update !
Just took her out of my biocube and into a QT with the other male clownfish .

All I did was went super heavy on METRO KANNAPLEX NEOPLEX WAS and of course used Focus. Also did two doses of copper +prazipro

They are now in a qt and in just going to repeat what I’ve done so far since I’ve had good success and watch out for any signs ! In the meantime cleaning up my biocube and sterilizing jr with vinegar! Going to get it cycled hopefully in. The next month or so !

Got seachem s Stability for the qt tank and maybe for the biocube as well not sure .

Thanks so much for the help and the positivity.
She’s still eating a lot as she did the whole way throughout.
Very proud ! At one point this thing looked really bad !
Cheers

Well-done! Keep the course for the full 10-14 days and you’ll be good to go, with any luck! :)

That is great news :) Good job!

Thank you all for the help along the way and calming me down ^_^ so the fish are in a new tank now .
Should I bleach my biocube or do I just run a gallon or two of vinegar through the biocube with the salt water still in it ?
Suggestions ? Thank you !
Photos of then and now

I like a spray bottle of each: bleach, vinegar/lemon, hydrogen peroxide. Spray, rinse, dry, for the tank surfaces. A strongish bleach mix to run through hoses, compartments, rinse 2X, dry. Same with the vinegar/lemon.
