Hi I was wondering what temperature can the clown fish or any type of salt water fish can hold, I'm curious since I have a garage and I will like to put a tanks but I don't have ac just a few fan, please help.

I like keeping the tank at 78; I've seen the recommended temp for them between 76 and 78. I guess it's partly dependent on where you live if you want to have a garage tank. If it gets really hot during the day you're going to need a cooler for the tank.

80 might be okay; I think some reefers have their tanks around 80 for a norm.

During the summer months my tank can get up to 85, Using evap cooling (Fans). i have had a clown pair for 8 years they are fine. Clowns are very strong. But in general 78-80 is optimal.

The temperature range for most tropical saltwater fish would be in the 76 to 82 degree range. Above or below that for extended periods will open the door for health issues for your fish.

So far I have not had a problem... during the day my tank his a high of 81.2, and at night it drops to 79.6... some reason I have two fans running and I can not get to cooler then that. I am not not running a thermometer in the tank right now either. I have it turned off or down to 54 degrees as of right now...

This should be interesting when I have to kick the AC on if it get warm enough here... but for now I'm just watching it and everything seems to be thriving just fine.. I have zoa's, nem's, 4 fish, snails, and assortment of hammers and other corals. This tank has been running like this now for about 8 months.

Hi all,

I find myself see the temps range from 79-81.5 degrees and steady out at 81.5 degrees during the day. I am new to this hobby, so still getting familiar with there behavior in there home (16 gallon Biocube). I have seen them even start to communicate (and twitch) as they are both small so thus must be a good sign. Watching them both has been preety amazing seeing them do there thing.

They are both only been in the tank for since tis past Sunday (so 5 day only).
