I bought a clownfish today, after acclimating him I released into my tank, came back an hour later and he's swimming in the corner with his head facing down?? Any help please??

Sounds like typical clown behavior. Often new clowns will hang out in the back corners of the tank. It may take some time to adjust to the flow of your tank as well, which the clown will over time. Make sure no other tank inhabitants/fish are showing aggression that would lead to the clown seeking refuge though.

Always check out basic water chemistry, ammonia, nitrates, sg...

I hope so :) I currently have
1 clown
1 emperor
1 cleaner shrimp
4 hermits
Not really gained enough experience yet to venture further

Just watch the current clown for signs of aggression towards the new clown. If you see out right aggression such as intense chasing, grabbing and ripping of fins you may have to intervene. A lot of times though if you got a younger sexually immature clown it will recognize the other clown and they will start swimming together. If there is going to be an issue with clown on clown aggression it's usually starts immediately.

I have 3 clowns and they still do the same thing. At night and early morning they split up and go to their separate corners and during the day swim together. Lol kinda weird. No need for you to worry.

Danny, I noticed that you bought the fish today and put him in the tank today. Do you ever quarantine your fish? I used to buy fish and put them in the tank the same day but now that I'm starting a reef I plan to run a QT tank so that a new fish doesn't spread a disease to everything in my DT.

Never bothered with a QT tank bud, I only plan to trade my emperor damsel in and just have 2 clowns in my tank :) can't justify spending £100's on corals ect.. 2 clowns was my goal that's all

Sounds like typical clown behavior. Oh, and good luck getting that Damsel out of there. They can be a nightmare to catch. A year ago I had to pull almost every rock out of my tank to catch one. They are a PAIN!

Haha I just went through that pain 2 days ago! 2 yellowtail Damsels that were ganging up on my goby. With that being said, I have 2 Damsels up for trade. Looking for some corals in a beginner tank.
