Hey guys I’m having trouble with my clown fish not eating and he is not as plump before this is day 4 of no food he is active and swimming perfectly still does the wiggles with his tank mate female I noticed is gentle with him they don’t fight..

Been testing every day my water is stable nothing out of the norm

I’ve tried many things...brine,Mysis,2 different foods with combinations of everything

Now with the brine shrimp he did show interest my other fish went crazy for it he would swim up to it check it out but not one bite unfortunately I tried the Kent’s liquid garlic no help and also Seachem Entice and no response:(

I’m going today to get I guess Rods and see how that goes anyone else have suggestions?? He used to eat like a pig and he looks like he still is looking for food when I’m at the tank he is ready but then he gets disappointed

Sorry for the problems, you are doing the right stuff trying out different foods.

I’d make sure to throw in some pellet foods as well - never know. Some picky fish I have would only eat pellets for whatever reason.

You can also try masstick reef paste. Never tried it on clowns but worked on some pretty picky fish.

Thanks what’s a good one pallet I was feeling the same not sure if I should soak them or not He’s still a juvenile

I like dki marine smaller size, the fish go nuts. But often time any will work. Also could try flake food.

I’ve dealt with many picky eaters, haven’t found a silver bullet yet except to try as many different foods and hope some of it works.

They haven’t been prepping an area for eggs have they? My male would go for a few days without eating if eggs were imminent or present.

I doubt it,they are both still juveniles I called the LFS told me to bring the fish In they looked at him they said he looks good only thing is he is producing a little extra slime coating so he definitely is stressed ,the guy tested my water everything is on point he said my PH is very low at 7.6 but when I test it when I came home it read 8.2 he told me to buy Eight-Four to raise the ph and to also raise my temperature I keep it at 77 or 76 he told me to get it at 80 so I don’t know what to do ‍ I’m scared this stuff may give my tank a ph spike no?

What else is in the tank? Ph does need too come up, but you’re correct, you’ll need to do it slowly.

It shouldn’t be quite as bad to raise ph and temp then. Coral tends to be much more sensitive.

Well what ever chances I had of saving the little guy with temp adjustments and the ph he died when I brought him home that put way too much stress on him now I gotta go back to the LFS get another clown before my other clown stresses out cause she is looking for her mate

I hate to hear it. Best of luck with the next one.
