My friend has had a beautiful black snowflake clownfish for near a decade. A few years ago it seemed to get internal parasites. He even took it to a vet and they said it was “callamanus nematodes”.

Since treatment the fish has still had white stringy poop over the years. My friend wants to tear his take down and give me the fish. We want to treat it before I take it from him but we’re thinking prazipro won’t even work.

Suggestions? Not even sure if it’s nematodes anymore.

Treatment would be PraziPro if it is internal parasites.
At times, when feeding Mysis shrimp and /or brine shrimp. . it will mimic white stringy poop
Does clown display normal feeding, normal breathing and swimming behavior ?

Normal breathing and swimming - normal everything except white stringy poop. The vet did a gill clip and microscope test but that was many years ago before treatment. I think prazipro doesn’t work on nematodes though correct?

It will. Can be used with Metronidazole to be more effective
general cre will work also as it contains prazi and metro. Prazi works in part by paralyzing the parasites, thus allowing the host to more easily shed the parasite both internally and externally.
Generally only one treatment is needed (if fed, two to three times in one day), although re-treatment 5-7 days days later of a product containing Praziquantel is required.
Praziquantel along with Metronidazole are a couple of the safer medications you can use for your fish to treat parasites, both internal & external (& more effective when combined).
