Okay I just noticed that my female clown has ick on its left fin only she seems fine swimming and everything also eating good but still worried anyway to treat Without a Qt saddly don't have the funds for that.. But was just wondering if there is anyway to treat it thank you

Not really. You can just try to manage it by boosting it's immune system with vitamins added to his food... like Selcon for example. There are several brands. Keep the water clean, and his tank mates peaceful and pray you dont encounter a stressor event. The clown could possibly survive, but any other fish that are more delicate may not.

Only have 2 clowns and shrimp for 7 months now and thank you for the advice(:

I had issues with ick and clowns and I boosted their systems with garlic in every meal. Also do more frequent water changes to help out, and keep your hands out of the tank except for feeding. If you have to clean the glass inside, use a long handled scrub brush or wait till the tank lights are out and the clown is hiding anyway.

I was going to suggest boosting immune system w/ Selcon, garlic, and big water change to refresh quality but it has already been proposed by these awesome mems. Goodluck with everything.

I once met a girl who worked for this lfs who always laughed at me saying I overdo things...She told me that she's never had a QT tank and have never treated a fish on her 90 gallon tank by keeping her tank temperature at 76, always.
I thought she was crazy until I got to see her tank, it was overcrowded but to my surprise all her fishes were healthy lol

Lol that's crazy Brian.

I know right? Oh well, at least she was soaking their food with Vita-Chem, Selcon and Garlic Guard. I believe that's what was doing the trick and not the temperature but I didn't say anything to her lol

Yea because according to ppl at lfs they know more than the customer lol can't stand ppl like that lol.

Ich is very manageable except for certain species, namely any tang from the genus Acanthurus. Soaking fish food in vitamins or treating with herbal remedies seems to help more than, say, running a UV. And so long as all your parameters remain stable and nothing "out of the ordinary" happens you might be OK. The problem is it's only a matter of time before Murphy's Law kicks in: heater sticks, prolonged power loss, big fish fight breaks out, ATO dumps in too much kalk water, etc. etc. A healthy fish (i.e. one not battling parasites) will usually survive these incidents, while fish with ich may not. Any "stressor event" adds undo strain on an already compromised immune system tied up with fighting disease. It's like walking a tightrope when suddenly a big gust of wind comes along. ;)

Fortunately, even when fish are compromised by ich it's usually just 1 or 2 casualties at a time. As in nature, the weak ones perish while the strong live to fight another day. However, forgoing QT because you don't care if your fish get ich also means risking a run-in with a far more serious ailment: Marine Velvet Disease. It usually takes watching all your fish die (within 72 hrs) to this horrible disease for people to reconsider their position when it comes to QT. :(:(:(

I had a run in with marine velvet over the memorial day weekend this year. I watched helplessly as 25 out of 27 fish died in a matter of 3 days. Al because I bought despar anthias that loked suspect in the 1st place and I did not listen to the warning bells in my head and advice from others. Tag that with not QT'ing them and it was my fault. I lost nearly everything, magnificent foxface, lemarcks angel, bellus angel, chevron tang, Starry Blenny, flame angel, 2 bangai's, all 12 of my despar and Bartlett Anthias, and 5 green chromis. All this because I had no QT. My next build is going to be massive and I wil have a 40g QT.

Thank you all for the help and advise it's day 3 and ick is no longer visible (: Thank god

I would continue treating the food for at least a week. You don't want to stop now. Because you may not see it now but it could pop up just when you think it had left.
