Clownfish

I bought the stuff that penguin sells to put in the filter I guess the ceramic nuggets/bio blocks what your talking about and also was going to replace the crappy the filter pads with sponges as well
It's marineland's claim to be a bio-filter but unit has a small surface area to keep up with typical bioloads

Get them a "house" like a clay pot or PVC tube. Once they start spending most of their time in the dwelling and actively cleaning it the pair is ready to start brooding. Good luck!
With the PVC tubing what diameter would be best and does it matter if its one with a bend to or is it better to have a straight short or long one because I have plenty of pics tubing in basement just have to clean it really good to remove the dust from sitting..... Also was thinking of putting it in the back corner

One other question I have how do you know when they are getting ready to pair up and mate if they ever do I got one smaller one and one bigger one
One this is normal behavior. They love to host corners of the tank and sleep there.

Two. You’ll know. They will be inseparable and will host together. You will notice mating ritual and dominance rituals too where the submissive fish shakes and vibrates next to the more dominant fish.

ok thanks if the mating ritual happens through the day probably will not see it because that is when I'm at work should i put a piece of pvc pipe in the tank when i get home so they know a home is in tank

You can try, they should have something to host. That said it’s up to them. Despite my rock work corals and bubble tip nems, my clowns hosted the corner of the tank for 18 months before moving into the nems.

They will go where they want but give them options.
