So I have been noticing clown has a white stringy thing hanging out his pooper been watching it for a few days hoping it would break off but it hasn't so I'm wondering what it could be. Water quality is great and I'm feeding a combo of mysis shrimp and omega one flake food. I have had this fish going on 9 months and the last fish I added was 3 months ago and is healthy but my clown is the only fish that has this issue. Any advice? BTW he's eating and acting fine just got that string thing hanging

Possible intestinal parasites, but I have noticed that my clowns will do this if they eat too much of one type of food. Maybe add more variety to what you feed them and see if it helps. If not you may need to treat with Prazi.

A lot of people will say that it’s a disease in the stomach, either bacterial or parasitic. Not true. Sometimes they just get an upset stomach, either from stress or a new diet, and this is what happens. Everyone is always ready to reach for the medication. Just leave him be and he’ll be fine. If it’s not OK in a couple of weeks, then you could try some medication.

+1 trying a variety of different food and see if it changes first before considering anything else.

Yea thats what I was thinking when I looked it up everyone said it was a parasite I'm like how though if nothing new had been added in a while but I think I'm just gonna wait it out and hope for the best
