Clowns flung sand in hammer

Clowns GIF by memecandy

Tbh my clowns will always will get a small bit of sand on their torch coral, even I do when doing maintenance sometimes. Its best avoided though, if its a lot I would shake it off. If its a few grains, it should be fine. In nature corals get all kinds of nuisances dumped on them.
One of those nuisances being global warming XD :(

Yeah but my little jerks litterally covered my poor hammer.

I imagine trash and random feet.... Unfortunately

Pretty sure nature already has a solution. I mean, no one in the ocean is picking them up to shake them off. I would just gently blow off the sand and not worry about it eating it.

Well its mouth was wide open so it already ate some.

If they covered it, flip it around to get the sand off. Are they hosting in the hammer? If so, you can try moving the hammer if possible. Then move it back a week later

Clownfish are serial killers tho, next thing I know they're in every coral stressing them out I feel....

Are you sure tiping it upside down wont make it drop its head I always hear stories about peole bumping their hammers and their heads falling off.
If you turn ur hammer or any coral over, and it comes out within or under 10 seconds, (all u need is a 10 second shake MAYBE) then u shouldn’t keep those corals if they pop out they were gonna die already

They do it on their own for me
Sand is main reason why I keep few coral s on or close to sandbed

However much I love clownfish, that is definitely true. Mine got bored of their torch, now they seem slightly interested in my GSP. *on which, unrelated, i just found a mini feather duster so i can't wait for that to grow* But yes the GSP doesn't seem to mind.

Most corals tolerate it, I have a huge elegance tho that was happier before clownfish, also my duncan's aren't a fan of the clowns hosting them... I can't imagine a reef without a clownfish or 2 tho...

Agreed, I can't imagine a reef without a pair either. I feel bad for clowns that are alone in their tank, with no other clowns :(

Yeah my clowns interact so much with each other. My female is having a growth spurt right now its crazy how fast she is growing.

No they are not hosting it. They have their "clown corner" where they spend their time. They randomly excavate under the rock my hammer is next too every few weeks for some reason.
