I picked up a pair of locally bred platinum clown that came from the same clutch/batch of eggs. They were about an inch at the time and are about 2” now (1.5 years later). They are the same size, so it’s not obvious that they have sexually differentiated yet. They clowns are mostly tolerant of each other and sometime host in the same trachy in my 90 gallon tank. They haven’t paired up like my perculas have in the past. It didn’t occur to me that they might not because they are siblings, but my buddy said it might complicate things. I’m curious what the broader consortium thinks.
Are siblings less likely to pair? Should I add a lone female or another pair to the tank to see if someone takes charge?

Its a gamble as they could pair off but not sure what to say about the outcome of any fry that would hatch

No, siblings are not less likely to pair.

Pairing of clownfish from the same clutch is common in the hobby, a significant difference in pairing likelihood compared to clownfish of different clutch had not been observed.
