My clowns are showing very strange behavior. Not normal to what they used to do. The smaller clowns is twitching again, and swims erratically all over the larger clown. It's really strange to me since he's never done this. My friend told me last night (she loves staring into my tank with me) that she thought that was the equivalent of a "slap" lol. My husband thinks he is ready to spawn and trying to get her going. Any thoughts? They will also go and stay really really still in a bottom corner of the tank. It's been their 'home' for a long time, but they've never just stayed so still for 10 - 20 seconds like that before. Are they gathering strength for breeding?

Think it is more the step before pre-spawning behavior.

What you should notice before spawning starts is them (( in all the cases the male does most of the work, just saying ;) )) starting to clean a spot off a rock, or some other surface.

From a couple of years ago, my male perc cleaning a spot a couple 5 days prior to them spawning for the first time.
