Clowns loving my BTA too much?

So I just bought a rainbow bubble tip anemone and my two small clowns are being too rough with it I feel like and it’s not attatching to anything. Is this a normal cycle or should I maybe put the clowns in the refugium for a few days or so? The anemone is about 3” and the clowns are an inch to an inch and a half and were in the tank first. It’s a 125 gallon tank.

Your idea of separating the clowns from the BTA for a few days certainly would not hurt as it would allow the BTA to get comfortable and settled.

Hopefully, the BTA will host your clowns when you reintroduce them.

Thanks for the reply! I listened to my wife and ran them off of it and now they won’t go near it :/ hopefully when it comes back out or grows some they’ll love it again. It’s gone on the back side of the rock. Of course, where you can’t see it ha

Keeping them away from it for good period in the beginning is typically beneficial to the anemone. Gives them a chance to adequately acclimate and not get over smothered by the clowns, which can kill smaller anemones (particularly when bigger clowns are involved)
