Hey Guys Brad here,

Recently just bought a new pair of small clowns and I’m having no luck getting them to eat foods. I have some mini pellets and (Frozen) mini mysis shrimp. I’m thinking running into my LFS and picking up some brand of flakes. What are your guys suggestions?

How long have they not been eating? When did you get them? How small are they?
My sis may be too big if they are very small. Find out what they were eating where you bought them? Try enticing them to eat by offering different foods from flake to formula frozen food. They will eventually eat. Just ensure they are healthy and minimize stress. Do you have other fish that may be stressing them out?

I have a small clown that i have to target feed when all the others are busy eating at the other end of the tank, He does get the left overs that drift his way. Try brine cubes that should give them a chance

I got them about 4 days ago! I’m checking the water quality everyday to see if it could be that but all I have are low nitrates. As far as size they are slightly bigger than a Quarter (25¢) and For now it’s just my clean up crew in the tank with them

BTW I set the cubes on the MP40 guard they thaw in seconds and are spread threw out the tank

First the size of the food matters. here is some info on sizes breeders use for raising fry once past the rotifer stage
Next like above find out what they were eating before you got them.
Try different frozen foods. Rotifers, Calanus, Rods food ect...
