So I purchased a bta, it's healthy and very open. My Picasso clowns won't go near the nem. I even placed the nem in a container and caught my clowns, placed them in the same container, only for them to jump out back into the tank. My friend told me that picasso's don't host well to bta. Is that true? Is it just one of those situations where my clowns will never host to it? It's been nearly 2 months and I'm just a little disappointed that they aren't taking any interest in the nem. Any help or advice would be great, thanks.

IIRC, percula clowns will not host BTAs in the wild, but it is fairly common in home aquaria. Try printing out a picture of clowns hosting a BTA and tape it to the side of the tank. It may sound ridiculous, but monkey see monkey do! Several people have had success with this tactic, although it's not guaranteed to work.

Are they hosting anything now? Btw, mine took to frogspawn first, but I persuaded them into the 10 inch rbta I have.

I had success feeding my clowns by my bta. Didnt feed them for a day, and when i fed them held the food in my hand and they followed to the bta and i dropped it in and in they went...Been there every since

Don't feel bad, I have had a clown for almost 2 years, never has hosted anything other then a corner of the tank. So I added a 2nd clown about a year ago now, it went for the BTA, started getting cozy and the original pulled him away and they paired up..... They now host my magfloat!!!!! LOL

Agreed, all my clown's have taken a while to host anything in my tank's, recently purchased a Blue Stripe Clown and it looked at my sabae nem and then looked at my frogspawn and decided it liked my fuzzy mushrooms lol, now he is hosting some zoa's so it's not an instant thing, may take a while or may not happen at all =P

:squigglemouth:I have 6 pairs of clowns and only one pair host a BTA the rest host pots and that's about it. What's funny is I have seen some of my pairs feed the pots haha, they will swim in the pot and spit the food in the drainage hole. I have tried BTA, frogspawn, different soft corals and they rather host a pot.
