Hey everyone I was just curious if my fish are currently trying or attempting to pair? I've had them for about a month and a half almost 2 months now. And the bullet hole clown has always been the aggressor but here in the last week or so Ive noticed this twitching behavior and it happens all over the tank not just when near the glass. They for the most part stay in close proximity of each other until I cut the lights and then they tend to go separate ways. Just curious if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing or if I'm just too hopeful

Clownfish are wired for dominance and that often includes aggression (ranging from mild to extreme). The behavior you describe can be related to mating activity or just establishing a pecking order. Additionally, please know that even if this is mating behavior, the positioning and practicing may ebb and flow and can continue for quite some time before any eggs are laid. Good luck!

No that sounds like bonding behavior. The one that submits will twitch so bad it looks like a seizure and then show the other clown its belly

Are they small?

I tried to attach a video but it apparently it didn't upload so I'll try again. But yes both just over an inch

Here's the video. Apparently the original was too long so I had to cut it down but these guys do this all day everyday

Yep. Normal, healthy clownfish behavior. Nice pair of fish!
