Got a pair of new clownfish today and was wondering if them swimming in the current like this is okay for them.
I read that this is usual clown behaviour for a new pair but this is the first fish I ever bought so I'm worried about everything and need closure lol.

Thanks!

The video doesn’t work for me but I have a pair of 1 inch clowns that host my MP10 so I’m sure it’s fine, gave me heart attacks every time they got close to it tho, was sure they’d get sucked in but they’re fine! I guess they’re good swimmers

Here’s pics of them. Always up on my powerhead and giving me anxiety

They just like the current. If it bothers you you can get a cover for your powerheads
They're not really near the powerheads, they just swim in a current made by them. I was just worried that maybe the current would stress them out or something.

I have a feeling that if they were stressed they would have just moved but idk, I'm not a fish lol.

Every evening when the light starts to turn down, my female clown rides the current from the return. Swims up the back, catches the return flow, shoots across the tank, swims down, goes back and repeats. I’ve sat there watching her for almost an hour. Guess she likes it, the male just hangs around in the general area like a parent watching their kid on a ride. Them and my Midas Blenny are always doing something wired.

My 4 clowns love to surf the current! I like to think it's what they would do in the ocean. My foxface also really enjoys it. But the most entertaining of all, my horseshoe crab who *tries* to swim by flailing around until she lands somewhere, then climbing the rocks and jumping off again.

This is cool. Someone said it best already you probably have to worry when your clown starts a ting like a regular fish haha.
Mine like to sit and swim in the return current. Comes up to the surface to mad dog me and bite at water and sometimes spits water. Also like to skip across the surface. Clowns are crazy fish.

I can’t see the video but I have gyres turned vertically and all of my fish swim directly into the flow then allow themselves to get “blown” back and do it again. Seems like they really enjoy the “game”. Nice looking tank from the pics. Congrats on your new clowns.

I got a pair of clowns 2 weeks ago. I just installed my power heads and they have been in front of them since I turned them on lol so I came on here to read about it. I guess it’s what they do ??? Thanks

I swear… clowns are insane. My female shoots water and aggressively bites the water as soon as I remove the lid. feeding time is an experience, that’s for sure.
