Hey everyone! I’m on day 9 of Copper Power. QT has two clownfish and an algae blenny. One clown (bigger one) and the algae blenny seem perfectly fine. The smaller clown fish has Hyper-Melanization. Between yesterday and today I have noticed a dozen or so holes in the first white bar of the clownfish. He also has started spasms. He’ll be swimming along just fine and then start shaking violently and then right back to normal. As soon as I can catch it in video, I’ll post that.

The clowns will only eat PE Mysis dry granules. I’ve tried frozen and they wouldn’t touch it. The algae blenny eats the algae in qt and TLF green algae.

Any ideas what is wrong with the clown and what is the best course of treatment. Here are a dozen photos from different angles.

Thanks for your input.

These pin size holes are known as erosion and associated with HLLE . It is often caused by a parasite : Hexamitid but can also be due to stress by some factors such as :
Activated carbon
Nutrition deficiency especially if feeding exclusive flake and Pellet diet
Poor water quality

Prevention is more effective than medicating but you can use seachem metroplex added to foods at .5gm weight which is a tiny amount. For foods, good additions are LRS fish frenzy, spirulina brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, small plankton

No carbon in qt, they won’t touch LRS or Hikari frozen mysis. That’s what I feed all my tanks. Qt water is changed every 5 days. I’ll try the medications. Thank you.

I am on day 14 of medicated foo (LRS, Hikari mysis, metroplex and vitachem). The fish are now fully eating frozen but there has been no change for the clown. I am also on day 26 of copper power. Should I start metroplex in the tank or add vitamins directly to the water (VitaChem)?

After copper the plan is three rounds of PraziPro.
