So my pair of clowns started showing signs of ich. One had about a dozen white spots appear, and the other half that.
I expected that I'd need to set up a hospital tank with copper as soon as I could free up the 10 gallon tank for them.

In the meantime I thought I'd try out Supratect in the reef tank. It's made locally, and intended as a freshwater and reef safe parasite treatment for Canadians who can't get meds any more.

I used 25 ml in a 40 gallon tank. In 24 hours there was no sign of any white spots on the fish. They'd all fallen off.
The fish and coral are still happy (mushroom, kenya, and a nem).

It's been 3 days since treatment and so far so good, fingers crossed.

From the smell I think it's a high concentration garlic extract, and I'm assuming some other things.

If there are any sudden crashes or issues I will update this threat immediately. But I'm pleasantly pleased at the moment.

Glad to hear that your case of ich has abated. Watch very closely for it to return though.
I’ve not used Supratect, but I’m leery of any product that purports to cure ich, but is safe for corals. I also will not put any medications in a tank if I don’t know the ingredients for. There are a number of other “tonic” ich medications out there, and none have as good a track record as a proper medicine does.

At this point there's no recurrence, but I guess I'll know for sure in 5 or 6 more weeks.

We're quite limited in what we can get for medication in Canada, so having something a little less nuclear than copper is nice.

I've stocked up nicely using Ebay. Takes a few weeks but I have a few meds on hand.

Another thing you can do lol my friend faked a vaginal infection and said "metronidazole seems to alwsys work" and boom, now you have Metro...just sayin...gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.
