I put 2 clowns from qt to display a couple days ago--Friday I believe. Both clowns are "hosting the back corner of the aquarium and won't leave to eat. Even squirting food near them they just keep swimming as clowns to--both upside down and close. They weren't this bonded in the QT. Are they bonding? Too scared to come out? They had explored tank on first evening but not since. Do I need to shoo them from their corner? leave them be for a few more days?

i'd leave them be.they are probably just adjusting to the new environment and water chemistry.shooing them will just scare and stress them more.clowns are a hardy bunch and should adjust in a few days.

Don’t worry. My clowns are still like that. 6 months in the tank. I introduced an anemone to see if they will change and nope, they don’t care. They are always on the top right corner.

tank mates are:
yellow tail damsel that doesn't show any aggression to anyone. Hangs in right side rockwork. Pals with the goby
sleeper gold head goby--same--peaceful
2 wrasses added same time --ruby and blue qt'd with the clowns and no issues then or now. clowns added with the 2 wrasses. Wrasses are hiding in rocks but coming out to nap food. They share the same cave/rock work area as the goby who is about 4 inches and they are approx 2-2/5. No issues. Clowns only ones not really moving out into water column to eat, or even food squirted into their corner (mix of about 5-6 frozen foods). Just hanging on their own.

I had the same exact problem. My smaller one would wander away a little then go right back, but the bigger one stayed in the corner. I returned the bigger one for another of the same size and he went all over the tank with the smaller following.

As said above, they are likely just settling in to their new home. They can pick just about anywhere in your tank to serve as their host. Clowns are weird.

I'm mostly concerned that they are not eating. I've had clowns stick to corners before but they always came out to eat. In my other tank, the darwin clowns are the first out for food, along with the chromis and dispar anthia. They are hosting in the rockwork and the corals in that area. Just let me try to stick my hand in the tank in that area....

I wouldn't worry. From the moment I placed my 9 year old bonded pair in my current system, they have stayed in the left corner of my tank.

They do, not every often, wander to the other side of the tank sometimes, but go back to the left. They sleep in the corner.

They are weird and goofy, but that's their home. I always hope that one day they will return to my toadstool leather and host it again, like they did when in my smaller tank. Maybe one day.

Don't worry, they will eat when they are settled.
