club in Mobile AL?

This is just a little rain. Mobile, AL can handle a ton of water at a time with little issues.

Yeah I know. Just being “witty”. :-)

I am just taking it slow. There are so many things I am responsible for, adding a reef tank again is a big deal and piling more on me.

MBRK.com, Mobile Bay Reef Keepers. I am the original owner and maintainer of the website. The site needs some activity and it would help if the locals would form back up a reef club.

Yea... you and me and hubby were the founding members of MBRK.. can we start again? I want to see y’alls tanks. Can you say frag swap?

I am not sure if or when I will start a tank again. It probably will happen but it may be a few years for me.

Mobile area here. Found this thread. Maybe I can start something up .

Frag swaps would be cool

Let me know what needs to be done to get one started. I don't cotton to the Facebooks.

I'm in I! used to live in the area during the good days of MBRK but got transferred out. But I'm back now for good and in daphne.

I heard performance is in the middle of shutting down :( concentrating on maintenance or something. in the mean time, check out my pet project, its' not gulf coast specific. . . but its the future https://radreefs.com

I guess with so few LFS in the area it's hard to get an idea of who all is in the hobby. But I think starting up either a new reef club or restarting MBRK back up would be a great idea.

:( Have you talked to anyone else? Does anyone have a tank still?

Actually I will be starting one back up, we just decided to pull the trigger. We are currently saving and looking at either late this year or early next year during tax season. I am not sure on the size yet or even exactly what I will keep, but for my sanity I need another reef tank.

And I actually still own MBRK, I still have a backup of the forum and post. Once I get started again I will put the forum back up but with a new look. I am really glad I kept the domain name all this time. Having a four letter domain name these days is a good thing.

Is Rich at progressive still operating? I actually saw him at El Giro on Shillinger's Road a few months ago but I did not say anything since he probably does not remember me.

About a year ago I was at progressive and rich was still there. I haven't been in there since. But it would be cool to have mbrk back up and running and meet other reefers in the area. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only hobbyist in daphne lol.

No, you are not the only one around here. I swear when I walk my subdivision I sometimes see actinic lights in windows. I have been getting the itch for a while but just because I know how expensive this hobby is, I want to make sure I am ready financially so I can do it right. I met so many great people while doing the hobby, and I am still friends with people like Brandon, Melissa, Josh, Mike and Jason from back in the day.

Ah, actinic lights in the window, the dead give away lol. If you need help or equipment let me know. I'm not sure what all supplies I have on hand but I can donate what I have.

Anyone remember this guy?
