Club Meeting

Do we have a plan for a club meeting soon? I have never been to one here. I think we should have one before all the holidays.
Maybe we should decide on meeting 2nd saturday of every month or something like that on a regular basis.

How about we pick Friday, Nov 16th (around 6:00 PM) or Sunday, Nov. 18th (around 1:00 PM) so everyone can do their Thanksgiving shopping on Saturday?
Unfortunately I don't have a house that I can offer for the meeting but once we know how many people we can get together somewhere in Huntsville area.

Meeting location

We'd host again, but I'm totally slammed at work and just couldn't pull it off. I've never been there, but would the McWane Science Center be an option? I know it's in B'ham, but in the past when we've combined NARC and the B'ham club, I always get to meet new people.

Are there any pet stores in Huntsville/Decatur that are open to letting us set up a table or something?

Just a thought.

I understand about work and you hosted the last one which was a success from what I could read. But Birmingham is way too far for someone living in Huntsville area I think. Once or twice yearly for frag swap should be great though. I was part of DFWMAS and we used to meet every month in a room at a Furntiure store or someone's house if we were taking tank tour or something like that. I was thinking we could do something like that here as well so we don't have to keep guessing when and where we are going to meet. We can have membership fee and use it do raffles for reef stuff and food so it will be fun. I am sure someone in Huntsville area can find a church room, school room or some hotel conference room that we can use once a month. I myself am in Scottsboro, 45 mins east of Huntsville and can probably find something here if people are interested to venture this far.
I can probably talk to 'The aquarium shop' in Huntsville to see if they will let us host a meeting this time. They have their tank area which is probably enough for 25-30 ppl.

I am ok with 7 pm as long as it is Friday.

What about Lowe Mill? The place is totally laid back and has some good areas to meet. Chef Will would probably even cater it if everyone would chip in $10. I've worked with him in the past... great guy and amazing chef. Do you guys want me to look into it?

I haven't seen a whole lot of interest so far but yeah you can check. If for $10 we are getting lunch or dinner that's not too bad either. It can be an option if others have other ideas.
I don't how many people are watching this and just waiting to see if we decide on a place and time or maybe just no one cares. But if we are going to decide we need more than 3-4 people that have voiced their decision. I personally am new to the area so can't make any calls to you reef junkies out there.

Anyway GO VOTE!!!
