I've resisted for a while, but have lost too many fish to jumping. Also, I am staying to look at adding a wrasse, and I know that they can be bog jumpers, so I am considering adding a cover.

The tank is a Red Sea Max S400, and is ~100g. I know this is available, but it's expensive, sounds like a lot of work, and gets pretty bad reviews.
I'm wondering if I can just buy some plastic screen and cut it to fit, or...?

I'm hoping some of you have traveled these roads before me and can offer some words of wisdom.

I made my own. You can see the build process in my build thread. If you have any questions I can help with, just ask.

You could always use lighting diffuser/egg crate sold at hardware stores. That would be the cheapest option

I have had that on my 40 gallon breeder and its absolutely useless keeping fish out that can technically still fit through the holes. I have had two adult diamond watchman gobies fly through there and a flasher wrasse. 0/10 do not recommend

I'd buy the screen material from BRS and DIY the frame with parts from local hardware store (probably cost under $25 total for a 100g tank).

Just a thought, I was doing this until I get a screen top made, but ended up kinda liking it.
I bought some 1/4” screen on amazon. I attached some command stick on mini clips to the glass.
I cut off some of the clip like this so I can pull up the screen when needed.

Command Clear Mini Light Clips, 45 clips, 54 strips, Indoor Use This is the netting

that is pretty cool - ordering the parts for that now:)

LOL. One of my clowns jumped while I was eating breakfast next to the tank this morning. One minute there were two, the next there was one. I scooped him off the floor and dumped him back in the tank. Then I ran to Lowe’s to get 1/4 bird netting. I attached it with packing tape  I think I’m going to get one of the Clearview tops and was planning on starting a thread asking for experiences.

When you put the clips onto the tank, make sure you clean the rim well to get rid of salt residue.
Where you want to stick the clip, use an alcohol wipe first to get rid of any oils, and the double sided tape will stick better.

I have a clear view on one of my tanks and really like it. I recommend the feeder door and then plan for expansion for the cord cut-outs.

Thanks.
