HI all,
Starting to get interested in machining as a subset set form reef keeping.
What's a good recommendation for and acrylic / wood CNC router?
Should I go for a branded device or are some of the options you see on Amazon OK too?

Ive worked with yuyong routers before... they are nice if you can find them with a good shipping price... lol... this one says shipping is actually free, which is hard to believe

Some things to consider:

- Table size. For the Chinese routers, the larger 6040 size machines have good travels and can do larger sheets.
- Control. You want something thats not a giant pain. I personally would lean to a machine which is a) USB and b) Runs on Mach3 or Mach4 software. The parallel port stepper controllers are more than antiquated. Mach3/4 is real software and is a very good choice for this type of machine control.
- Get an actual spindle as an option. The lower end spindles aren't even spindles. There are a few tiers in the Chinese machines, but an air cooled 1.5kW is a good bet.
