Oh missed that part. Yes why is there water in the media container?

Tube from air input of skimmer to output of reactor, input of reactor NOT in water just air.

So nothing comes out of other tube... just air?

The skimmer sucks the air through the inlet through the media and into the pump. Only air is pulled though, removing CO2 as it drawn through.

Yes that should be fine. If you let the media dry it should be ok as well

I have easy access to outside air being in my basement. All I did was connect an air line to the top of the redtube silencer.

Well if you take the media out to dry it will suck all the CO2 out of your air in the room exhausitng it. I would empty the water as best you can, dry it on a towel quicklu and wipe out the reactor and use it like that.

Yes that is what you need to do although drying the hardware with towels will suffice. Media might need to dry on it's own. If you have more media use it 1st. Moist air will not hurt your skimming

Yes open end on the side without the skimmer tube.

You should see a difference within a few hours, at least I did. Got a inital spike (higher PH) then in a day or so it leveled off.
