Noticing that ever since BRS changed their CO2 scrubber media, it only lasts a few days and they don't seem to change color as they expire. Previous pellets used to last me a month, with clear color change from white to purple. Now I'm going through a cartridge weekly, sometimes even more frequently, while the media color staying white. Recalibrated my pH probe and added a second one as a safety and the new BRS media does seem to be the issue.

Has anyone tried these medical grade color change co2 media from ebay?

Or can recommend another brand that you use? Anyone have any experience with TLF CDX media?

I'd look for medical grade color changing soda lime pellets in bulk. eBay, Amazon. Sold in lbs instead of Oz. Most likely much cheaper in the long run. Seen 5 gallon buckets before.

I have been using the brs co2 media. it only seems to last a few days. is there any other media that will last longer than 2 to 3 days at a time? like the vet grade or 2little fishes?

I got the 5-gallon bucket and like it so far. It's lasting about 1 week to 1.5 weeks on my 110. I will say that I did this with my skimmer and its helping keeping more moisture within the media, making it last longer.

I did something similar. except my hob skimmer has the overflow tube on the side of the cup towards the top. I have that going into my co2 scrubber and the the air intake gong out to my skimmer. so far I do get moisture collecting in the tube but I leave it there. I find it helps raise the ph even more. as far as overflowing into the co2 scrubber. I just repurchased the smart skimmer and it only gets to be 1/4 full before it turns off the skimmer. so a good weeks worth of skim atleast. could it fail yes. but will to take the chance until I get a new tank in January. that I will run a tube outside since that will be in a different spot. closer to an outside wall. like 8 to 10 feet away and not 20 to 40 feet away to an outside wall.
