Hi,
wondering about the placement of the canister- i have a HOB skimmer , and ideally would like to put the co2 scrubber in the cabinet below, approx 1.5 m away from the hob-- but would placing it too far away from the pump cause a decrease in efficiency ?
air pumps lose efficiency over distances, but is this the same scenario..? being a closed loop . ( recirculating skimmer)
my second option is to place the unit right underneath the HOB, maybe 2 feet distance.

The skimmer typically draws air in, so as long as you don't have any kinks in the air line and it's not a really long distance (I think 4-5 feet would be fine) - I think you should be ok. Place it where it's the most aesthetically-pleasing and gives you the best access for maintenance.
