Good day everyone. I will need some help. I installed a Ice Cap CO2 Scrubber about a month ago but I didnt notice any increase on my PH, always keeping around 7.6 not even reaching 7.8 and at night sometimes goes down to low 7.4. Did I installed something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Don’t know if there are any leaks in your silencer? I took off my silencer and have the scrubber feed directly to air input on the bottom of the skimmer.

I too connected the co2 scrubber directly to the skimmer removing the silencer. I also confirmed there was air sucking into the scrubber by plugging the intake side with my finger. I could feel the suction and I also immediately saw an increase in ph on my apex

I have this exact reactor. Our home is new and well built which means CO2 can’t get out. Stupid kids. Constantly breathing.

my skimmer is rated for around 120g (the larger Tunze black box) on a 120g medium Skimmer size to tank volume is a definite factor.

The media went from white to purple and rapidly back to purple. So fast for me that I barely caught it.

I ran a line outside into the scrubber to try and save media then just with the line outside and went from 7’s to low 8’s to low 8’s to mid 8’s.

mid it were me, and you didn’t already do it, I’d run the airline outside in as solid a single line as you could. It may not be convenient but that would help troubleshoot. If your airline already goes outside- test your probes and make sure they’re calibrated.

It looks like there two inputs on the skimmer intake. If so, it will pull from the hole with least resistence and that will be the fresh air port and not trough the scrubber. Try blocking that open port.

Also, consider recirculating the air from out of the protein skimmer cap back into your scrubber. You will need to drill a slightly larger hole in the skimmer cap. If you want to be fancy you could install a Murdock bulkhead or similar.

Thanks for your fast reply. I just connect the air line directly to the scrubber and also I have the line going outside the house. I may have to calibrate the PH probe again. All my corals are growing and a few hardy acros are doing great.

If you look closely I put a clear tape on the other hole but anyway, I forget to mention that I have a line directly from the skimmer to the scrubber.

Great, I was looking into that. I have to see how to make that coonection.
