So i recently installed co2 scrubber on my skimmer air intake. My ph just keeps climbing and im worried it might climb to high. Should i be using a solenoid or something to switch off the air circulation through the scrubber when reaches a certain ph? How high will my ph climb if i keep it hooked up like this? Also should i be maybe connect my skimmer to be controlled by my ph that it triggers my skimmer on and off to level out ph?

Hi, I wouldnt be worried. I also run CO2 scrubber on skimmer intake and during day, my pH is around 8.4 (around 8.1 during night) and everything is perfect. IMO even pH around 8.5 is good to go, but I have never been there. I think that it is highly unlikely that without overdosing, you would be able to get pH over 8.5.

Ok thanks. I was just worried might climb to a level too high that it would be an issue I hear soda lime has ph of like 13 i just didnt want to climb to 9 or above

Have you checked your PH level with something other then the APEX? It has been known to be off a bit. I am using the APEX along with a Milwaukee PH tester. Both of which I don't put much stock into. The manual test has told me that I am above 8 however. I also don't think you will be in any trouble if you are between 8.4-8.5

No but i did just calibrate my probe. I guess i should run another test but truth is i dont really care the exact ph aslong as i know its above 8.1, doesnt climb too high and stays steady.

Dont worry about soda lime in your scrubber. Its granular form and if used in a correct way, there is no chance to get it from a scrubber to your tank (ohh, I know, accidents happen). Anyway, in its granular form, its pH doesnt matter. :)
