Hey all.

I have the universal CO2 scrubber from
BRS and the aqua vitro 125 skimmer. Anybody know the best way to hook this up? There is a outflow of air from silencer. Thanks!

Bypass the silencer... I took my silencer completely off my skimmer and connected directly to the pump.

I will give that a go. I was worried that would limit the air-intake adjustment. I had to have that half closed to prevent overflow but after a few days I have it wide open now. No issues with that I’m assuming?

You can add a valve to adjust airflow either on the inlet of the reactor or in-line with the hose going to the skimmer pump:

Sorry still trying to figure out photos from
Phone.

I don’t think this is right? I am not sure how to hook co2 scrubber up to the skimmer. Which is out and which is in etc. I know newbie and technology isn’t a strength but learning.

Input CO2 Scrubber is from top of skimmer. Output of CO2 Scrubber is to air input of skimmer.

Thank you. I have the input co2 coming from top of skimmer on this aqua vitro it was the silencer. I than hooked the output to the pump that had a black rubber stopper on it which is closest in the pic on the skimmer pump. That make sense? Is that correct? I don’t see any other spot to put output on skimmer besides where you can hook up a
second pump to increase skimmer performance. Thank you for helping!

Do you have a picture?

Usually you have to make a hole in the top of your skimmer cup, where you put the tube that connects to the scrubber INPUT. The output of the scrubber goes to the skimmer’s air input device.

The yellow arrow is coming from output on co2 scrubber and the circle is going into the input on the co2 scrubber. The circle is where the silencer tubbing was hooked up but I removed that and replaced that to input of co2 scrubber. Than the arrow was where it was capped. I removed that and hooked output tubing from co2 scrubber to that. Makes sense?? Thank you :)

Think you have backwards.

The output of the CO2 scrubber should be going into the skimmer’s air input device (where silencer tube would connect at the bottom of skimmer to supply the the air to the skimmer).

The input to the CO2 scrubber should be coming from the top of the skimmer cup (you usually need to make a hole at the top of your skimmer cup lid for That tube.

Note that the setup I’m describing is going to recirculate the air in the skimmer and scrubber, making your CO2 Scrubber media last for months.

oh boy now I’m really confused. I was reading an above reply where they just removed the silencer all together on aqua vitro 125 and just utilized the pump.

That makes sense with input and output. The LFS was saying with skimmer I didn’t need to drill a hole in protein skimmer cup for co2 scrubber. However my PH usually drops at night and it’s staying the same

Installing the input line to the scrubber to the cup (recirculating) is not a requirement. As long as you keep water in the reactor so the air is humid you'll be fine. My ph varied between 7.6-8.1 and is now 8.2-8.4... mine does not attach to the cup on my skimmer.

I’m confused if you do e it this way as where do you get the air from now that you have removed the air silencer

Thanks everyone! We got it figured out with help of LFS today as they run the aqua vitro skimmers .
Hi I’m trying to reopen this thread please? As I have an ati 4 litre air scrubber and trying to use with Aquavitro 125? Any help would be appreciated very much. Thank you
