CO2 Scrubber

What do you guys tyink about c02 scrubber? I just bought some in hopes of decreasing my co2 content and increasing pH. My pH has been so low. It's sitting between 7.5-7.8. I'd like it around 8.1. I've tried running my skimmer air tube outside which did slightly bring up my pH to 7.9 but that was about it. Alk is 9. Ca is 500. Temp is 78*F. Salinity is 1.025

I tried cO2 scrubber and ended up dosing kalkwasser.

I'd be surprised if it helps more than low CO2 outside air, but it might. Only way to know is to try, since the results depend not only on the efficiency of the scrubber, but on how much aeration you get with high CO2 air through the tank top.

That said, if pH 7.9 is the daily low when using outside air, that is fine, IMO.

It worked for me when I was having Low pH problems the last place I lived. Kalk dosing did almost nothing to raise the pH significantly even when dosing the maximum amount possible. I tried the outside air thing first as well and it did about the same for me as its doing for you. The CO2 scrubber was the only way I was able to bring my pH up to 8.1 To 8.3

also id like to know if any of these homes that required a scrubber were gas heated. if they were electric, then there was a lot of people in the example home? wondering what might cause the elevated co2 in all electric setups if any. I once read a thread where someone with digital pH monitoring noticed a drop when he had a party, with all the extra respirers over. running 4 people and electric we never had any issues, home wasn't all that well vented either. we keep doors and windows tight usually to avoid extra heating or cooling costs.

The house I was in was just over 400sf and me and my wife lived there and I worked from home. It had wall ac so very little fresh air intake. If we left town for the weekend the ph would be higher while we were gone.
