can't get my ph up I live in a apartment first floor can't open windows and can't open holes in the wall to pull in fresh air can a scrubber do the work and do they get expensive like they say

never had one but here is the media sold on BRS
" 750 mL jar will last about 6-8 weeks in the average 50 - 100 gallon reef aquarium " so about $3/week
the scrubber itself is nothing but a media reactor/canister

When I first started using it, i was using about a bag of media every week ($6.49 a week). Once I did the skimmer re-circulation mod media lasted for about 3 weeks. So that's $6.49 every 3 weeks. Not too bad...

hooked it up already did bring the ph up from 7.9 to 8.1 just pulling out air from the room lets see how high it goes and then going to try recirculating through the skimmer

I'll reiterate here what I've said elsewhere, IMO, recirculating skimmer air is not optimal.

You may pull up pH by lowering CO2, and may possibly do that more efficiently, media-wise, but it is at the expense of oxygenation by the skimmer since it is not aerating with fresh air.

so it would be better to leave it just pulling from room
