Yes this is about average mine usta do same thing but usually 15-30minCO2 before and after opening all doors and windows. Amazing difference in a 15 minutes.

So I see you spent the money on the CO2 reader an alarm I was going through the same thing as you I’m assuming you’re dealing with PH issues so you bought the meter to monitor your CO2 to decide if it’s too high and that if you open the windows you want to see it drop which you do. So after I did the same thing as you for about a year opening the windows in winter with the heat on and opening the windows in summer with the air conditioning on I finally decided to buy an ERV I installed it myself saved a couple thousand but wow what a difference my CO2 stays at about 600 no matter what all day now and pH never drops under 8.3 and I no longer need to use CO2 scrubbing mediaCO2 before and after opening all doors and windows. Amazing difference in a 15 minutes.

Getting a quote for a EVR from HVAC company. My house is a ranch 4000 sq.ft. on sealed crawl space.
Was the install easy ? I would love to not spend $4000 on this install of the EVR

I wonder if just drilling a hole in the floor and running tubing to your crawl space and run that to your skimmer would address the situation.

I have a sealed crawl space, the Crawl Space was 1500 also. And my sump is in the Garage can leave garage door open day and night and dual becket 6 foot skimmer still can't scrub CO2. Added Recirc CO2 media, still can't beat it down.

I only mentioned this because he is at the steps that I was right before Deciding on installing the erv. I’m not sure if he even knows what an ERV is so that’s why I said it. I was doing little research on those interior co2 numbers and found even his 1500 is not in the safe zone actually Considered unhealthy. I was at about 1800. And can confirm that the product actually works for lowering co2 indoors to a healthy level aswell as We argue which is more important raising my pH ha ha

If you do a quick google search you will find plenty of this information. Now how much of it is actually true I’m not sure but it all seems to be the same from every source of info

My house is much smaller now my 1600sqft . But the theory is all the same you may need to get a larger unit then mine and possibly run it longer. I run mine for 30 min every hour. I was quoted 4200$ from installer end up telling him I’ll install myself so was charged 2000$ for the unit but then after searching internet found it for 1200-1400 delivered to house. The install was fairly easy but I do work with my hands for a living. Install took about 8 hours. Hardest part was drilling two 6inch holes thru 12 inches of brick in my basement making sure the holes are placed in the proper spot and straight. Of coarse had to buy 6 inch core cement bit was 210$ and rent big drill for 30$ because my huge dewalt drill was not big enough for a 15lb bit at the end. Then I brought home my 90 degree drill from work to cut a 7 inch hole in top of return duct to inject the fresh air into. That was little tricky could not do it unless drop ductwork or use this drill. Haha I know seems like a lot it then just ran some 6 inch flex duct work to it. I also had to add the electrical box next to it.

Just a note, at elevated CO2 levels (I think 1400ppm) you start to experience cognative decline.

Ok I guess I’m lying there was a hard part. I wanted a valve on the fresh air inlet tube from outside because if I ever want erv off and heat or ac on I didn’t want it to pull air in from outside. So because I wanted this valve I had to remove the circuit board from the unit and solder wires off it so I could run them to a separate relay to control the valve to open only when erv is on. I added the white wires and this is the relay I used it’s actually an extra on from when I fixed my neptunes eb8 and ordered extra. So I’m not sure what an installer would charge for that I would assume they won’t install a valve like I wanted.

This is great information that most people will never know about because they won’t buy the meter to actually measure it because nobody thinks it’s important. I was one of them until I borrowed a meter and seen 1800 and said to myself that’s probably where my headaches are coming from. You also need a new thermostat that controls fresh air system or a separate controller. My guess is yes will be at least 4,000. Maybe also ask if they plan to integrate it to your central air do they plan to install a valve at the fresh air inlet. Maybe they will quote you on a complete stand alone unit that will consist of having to install its own duct work now your taking 6-8,000. I’m curious what they quote you please let us know.
