Does anyone have any experience with the Coablt Aquarics C-Vue aquariums? I’m looking at the 45g one for a build for my MIL, for the price it looks perfect, so does anyone have any experience with them, good or bad?

Own one, and it's been a great tank for 2 years so far. I also have the 45g cube. I think I'd do away with the socks, but that's about the only complaint I can see.

I just bought one today. Planning on taking both socks out, getting a media cartridge for floss and any media I want to run on one side and then throw a skimmer on the other side. I will be putting this together over the month as I am am downsizing my current tank and moving I to a new house.

Does anyone know what skimmer is well suited for this tank? I was reading that the tunze is skimming too much which softies don't like.
Thinking about going bare bottom as well.

What I plan my build to be: (will post pictures as I get it up and running)

45g cobalt cube
ATO -Aqua duetto
Lighting - Kessil A360X x2
Wave maker- ai Nero 5
Skimmer - hydor slim skim nano

I use a TUnze comline 2004 DC in mine. Fits snuggly in one of the overflow sections, and I use filter floss in the other.

Updates on my tank
