Cobalt heater in Nuvo 40

Would like to know if anyone has cobalt 200w in Nuvo 40? It’s not fully submerged in back chambers. Does anyone know if it’s safe to run as in pic below, please?

Welcome to R2R! I don't know much about this heated, but s general rule is that a heater should be fully submerged at all times

Really? Thought it was most accurate and reliable based on BRStv videos. Still have a cheap heater running. Just opened this up. What do you recommend?

Cobalt had issues with their heaters a few years back, but have since improved the design (specifically on the 300 watt) the top sticking out like that should be fine as the heating coil is in the bottom half if the unit. Been using the 300 watt model in my tank with no issues

Manual states "Never operate heater with bottom of heater exposed to air". Their little pictograms show the top of the heater at water line somewhat peaking out so it appears that you should be fine as long as the bottom half is not exposed to air or touching gravel, rocks, or decorations.

I ran one of these heaters in a Biocube for 4 years with no issues and very accurate. I only replaced it when the top button became stuck due to build up and I was unable to adjust the temp setting. I probably should of cleaned the top more often.
