Anyone here using the cobalt neo-therm 300w.
I was at my LFS today and was about to buy it. My lfs guy let me open it and to both our surprise there were two probes inside, so I decided to place it on hold til I did my research. Any info is much appreciated thanks

Totally good! The 300W contains two heating elements (to deal with the 75G it's rated for) but they are connected to one, central Neotherm controller.

Thanks how’s the placement? Side by side or across from eachother?
It doesn't matter, they can be right on top of each other. Think of it as one heating element. They have heating protection circuits to avoid overheating, even if they run dry and are next to each other. If I had the space, I'd put them side-by-side.

I haven't used a 300W Neotherm but 3 of the 4 50-100W Neotherms I've used in freshwater tanks have failed over a period of 4 years. 2 won't turn on at all and 1 seems to hold a steady temp but the heater thinks the water is 92F for whatever reason. I went back to the Eheim Jager when setting up my reef tank last year.
