Cobalt MJ1200 heats the water

Anybody have issues with the Cobalt Aquatics MJ1200 heating up your tank ? It’s about 20 watts and 295gph.

My current QT was having problems so I set up a temporary 10 gallon QT with the MJ1200 and sponge. No heater plugged in yet. When I added the saltwater it was 78.5 now it’s 81.9. Room temperature is 77.

I use one to raise the temp of 4 gallons of mixed water to 78 degrees in my basement which is lower 70s so they put out some heat. Maybe rig it up as an external pump with some vinyl hose?

Same thing here. Its actually pretty convenient for water changes...
