Cobalt Neo-therm Heater Positioning

I'm getting a lot of mixed information as to whether or not you can place your neo-therm heaters horizontal in your sump? Is it safe to place this heater on its side? Need a little peace of mind.

I would keep the heater in a angle but the control part out of the water.
Have used many heaters and each and all I kept the control part out of the water, just a piece of mind.
Make sure you use the drip loop method too.

I spoke to Cabolt and they said absolutely keep it fully submerged?

I wouldn't do it with any heater though but that's just my $0.02.
How many watts is the heater?

The controller part of the Cabolt should be submerged. It can be positioned any way.

I have two in my sump, both horizontally.

I have two 200 watts. One set at 78 and the other set at 76 as a backup. Both cords running up to my power center. I have the MAX S 500 LED system.

I wouldn't do it with any heater though but that's just my $0.02.

I use two Jager heaters of 300watts but on the moment they are out of my sump.
Replace them every two years.
Tank is 202 gallons

The Jagers are made of glass, yes? I assume by your choice you would say glass is the safer pick over titanium or plastic? I want the safest option available (I'm sure like everyone)

I had this same question about a year ago & found info from a Cobalt rep that said you can place in any position, fully submerged, even flat on bottom of sump.

I really wanted that heater after seeing it featured in the BRS 52 week series on Youtube. I opted to get the cobalt controller thermostat, but basically BRS hooked it up to APEX temp monitoring and the water temperature didn't fluctuate at all.

One on bottom.
One in middle.

And at what temp set points are each? Do you keep both at same? Or one lower to act as a backup?
