I have some cheato and 1000 pods on the way from reefs2go. My question is do you have to feed the pods?

I put half in my fuge with the chaeto, and the other half in my display and watched my fish goto town on them. Was awesome. Some did escape the jaws and make it into the rock. Expect LOTS of pods from reefs2go!

Feed your system low-micron foods and you'll see your copepod and amphipod populations increase. Works its way right up the food chain!

Do you have anything else in your system? You shouldn't have to feed them if you are feeding anything else in your tank, I am not sure if you have to introduce food if you are not feeding any fish or coral. I have never directly fed my pods though and I have tons.

No i dont have any fish or coral yet. Im waiting on my nitrate spike of the cycle to decrease. So i didnt know if i need to put some type of food in yhere for the pods.

How long has it been set up? There probably will be enough die off from the cycle to feed them for a good while. Pods are so small they will be hard to directly feed.

In my refugium and in my overflow I've got healthy populations I monitor daily. I add a few drops of a phytoplankton like phytofeast. It's likely they've got enough food naturally but feeding them makes me worry less.
