Cockatoo died **GRAPHIC**

Watched the feeding video as well . . . It's cool to see the way she waves her body back and forth, like a blade of kelp in the surge . . .

Sad to lose her, but she was in good enough condition to produce eggs; a testament to your care.

So sorry to see/hear this, Renee. :(

I'm assuming all the organs looked fine when you performed the necropsy? Just a ruptured blood vessel?

The organs were beautiful...they were just void of blood.

There was one dot that I was suspicious of right over the gonads, like he could have been stuck by the lion. There was nothing on the outside to corroborate this finding.

The blood was fresh and clear. No signs of infection anywhere. Some other pictures.

Yup. All the blood was retained underneath the membrane covering the eggs. I eventually ruptured the sack and put some of the tissue under the scope. I'm bummed. This one had a lof of personality. I just finished training him to eat from a certain spot in the tank. He was so aggressive with food and became so excited, I was afraid someone was going to get accidently poked. So, I trained him to wait at a certain spot for food.
