Very cool, Paul. And happy anniversary. My dad had a few boats when I was growing up. Mainly used the same way you use hours but we fished and crabbed from it a lot too. I've never scuba dived. I've considered it but just another thing to get into to take up more time lol. I've snorkelled and loved it. My brother spear fishes the jetties and inlets here and always wants me to go but I prefer standing on top.

Paul, just a guess but based on the fact you are in LI and have a boat, I'd say you're a fisherman. Probably, more specifically a striper fisherman. If so, I am too. I'm shore based, mainly surf but get out on buddies boats here and there. So I get the many hobbies thing. Jersey should be seeing some of the fall run stripers about now. Time to get out there and wet a line.

I also kayak and hike... But with two young kids, I don't do any of it as much as I'd like. However, time spent with them is amazing! I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I was out last week for the first time this fall and only managed one schoolie. Will be at it again this weekend. I love Fall Striper fishing, but don't have the time as I used to.

One schoolie is better than nothing. I haven't fished much either. I plan on getting out this week. Are you in jersey? What area do you fish? I'm in Monmouth county and mainly fish there but fish Ocean County too. I don't have the time either but that's the beauty of striper fishing... Night time is the right time [emoji6]

Edit: NM, just saw your on LI too.

Thanks guys. We went out to Jedadiah Hawkins Inn for a couple of days. You Long Island guys will recognize it. I think it is in Laurel on the North Fork of Long Island. I have passed it many times but never stayed there. It was built in 1860 for a sea captain. While we were eating dinner there last night another, slightly older couple was also eating there and we started talking about wine and anniversaries. There are probably 25 or more wineries out east on Long Island. So he heard which wine my wife ordered and we found out he is in some sort of wine club. When they were leaving, he gave us a bottle of wine for a gift. That was very nice as we didn't know these people more then ten minutes. Then the manager of the place gave us another glass of wine and just before dinner we went to a winery for a wine tasting and had a few glasses of wine. We were all "wined" out by the end of dinner. So this morning we headed to a Vodka tasting distillery not far from there and of course came home loaded with all sorts of flavored Vodka's.
