College Reef Tank

I meant to mention too that you sump setup looks sweet if I haven't already said anything about it before

Here are some of my parameters, my calcium is low and my alkalinity is a little bit high, I'll keep adding calcium and those should balance out soon. My pH is somewhere between 8.2 & 8.3
My calcium is 360
My kh is 13 or somewhere around 214-232
Everything is going great in the tank with zero algae growing on the glass besides specs of coraline beginning to show

What salt mix are you using?

What salt mix are you using?
I've been using instant ocean which is the worst, the calcium is so low and to it precipitates terribly, but I'm going to switch to aqua forest probiotic mix, after reading all about it I was extremely impressed especially because it's a synthetic salt unlike red sea salt which can tend to be dirtier

I installed Pacific Sun's sentry ATO tonight and so far I'm very pleased. I like how it has its own controller and the lights are cool too. I was in the process of purchasing the aqua smart ato but the guy in the fish store ( premier aquatics in atl) told me that this one was a lot better.

I'm going to make an update tonight on the new fish and corals I've gotten as well as some pics from reefapalooza!!

Reefapalooza in Orlando went well! I regret not buying any coral but I had a long drive back to my house and didn't want to risk it.

Today I added four frags to my tank! I got them cheap as most of them were not doing well, so hopefully I'll color them up. I'm not too sure what some of them are right now, but I'm pretty sure that I have either a leptoseris or a pavona, a pavona or a turbinaria lol, a goniopora, and a Capella (kenyan tree coral). I've also added a trio of blue green chromis which add great color to tank. I dipped the corals I added today in ME coral dip, which is 100% natural and supposed to help rejuvenate coral. As soon as I placed them in the dip I saw several critter come off of them from copepods to a possible flat worm.

I finally got a protein skimmer! And my yellow tang is done with quarantine. Now I just need to get my lights and I'll be buying lots of corals!

Oh and btw I got the bubble magus curve five, I think if will be perfect for my tank, it's rated for around two times my tank size.

Also got this today to replace Sera Marin, so now through the week I feed about mysis once, pellets 3 + times, seaweed 3+ times, and brine once.

Looks great!!
Thanks! It's coming along so slowly but I promise it will eventually get more interesting. I'm planning on having mainly acros and montis in this tank and instead of just throwing in corals in different places I'm going to place them in spots so when they grow it will really eventually become a beautiful and different tank

I know about slowly getting equipment. My tank started to months after I got my rock and I didn't get all my leds until about 4 months after it had been started
