I picked up 2 scribble box fish this weekend, and for fear of them nuking my fish in the qt system, they are in the invert qt system - unfortunately they have ick (in hindsight it was on one of them in the shop - stupid newbie mistake) - so I cant use cupramine/paraguard etc as not invert safe or boxfish safe either really, after a trip to my local store they recommended Colombo Femsal - anyone use it? It claims to be reef safe, made by vets, contains Formaldehyde (20,1mg/ml), Malachite Green (0.25mg/ml) & Methylene Blue (0,05mg/ml). Says to treat day 1 and 3 and 5 if needed.
Inverts in tank consist of conches, fire shrimp, hermit, emeralds, porcelain crabs, sexy shrimps, pistol shrimps etc etc really dont want to kill them off...I would move them to DT (and leave fishless another 80days) but its not done cycling, it wont bring down nitrite levels
As a preemptive post (used the same hanna checker to test salinity when acclimating the fish across different tanks - so likely infected all of them ) I have another qt tank full of wrasse which I know can be sensitive to cupramine, would this med be a good alternative?
