strange as it seems, when we buy a sps coral from a vendor or local aquarist sometime the colors change for the better or worst.

for example a local vendor gets aquacultured corals that eventually brown out. i have purchased them and they have turned from brown to being colorful.

2 questions:
1. anyone have any success stories from purchased brown sps.
2. what in your opinion is the best light, imo 400 watt 20k radiums are my choice.

thanks, pics would be great if you have them

dont have any pics off hand but i LOVE buying brown outs. some of my best chalices came from brown out buys. most coral brought in for this trade have color of some sort so you always have a great shot at getting a real gem. most stores will also be very willing to unload them at a heck of a deal.

PS: i also prefer the 400 radiums.

I have a frag that was hardly showing any color, but I saw some potential...I will get a pic...Its turning into the best coral I have by far.

I love getting brown outs. Ive got 2 watermelon chalices that way. Same with SPS Ive got a couple real nice ones that way. If they dont color up I just sell/trade them off.
