I have 2 orbit marine LEDs. They're on for 10 hours in the day, however about 7 hours of the day the lights look very white (with very little blue) and just blue lights for 2-3 hours. However, when I go to my LFS and other stores, their lights are always very blue. Should my lights be pretty much always blue? (I like the blue look too anyways)

You can adjust them for more blue , yes. It will lower par a bit.

A fwiw, the orbits at a 1:1 w b is exactly 20k. 20,000 degrees kelvin.

I'm sorry, I really don't understand few last bit? And do you know how to customize the orbit marines? I've done so much research and just can't get them to work for the life of me!

Fish stores run heavy blue and actinic spectrums (blue/purple hue) because it makes coral more fluorescent. The extra fluorescence makes the coral more appealing to buyers. The white color you are seeing is full spectrum which is all the white and blue LEDs in your fixture running at the same time. The white LEDs are washing out the blue. This full spectrum is often better for growth depending on the setup.

You can change the programming on your fixture to reduce the amount of white LEDs are showing. Here is a video that goes over the programming on your unit I believe:

To be fair your LFS is likely running some very high end lights from Kessil, AI or Ecotech Marine Radions. You can tweak the settings on the Orbit Marine but you will never duplicate that look completely without high end lights. I agree that I don't care much for the look of white light in a reef tank, but I do recognize the necessity of it. My cheap Mars Aqua I have on my 90 gallon will definitely be getting replaced with some AI Prime HDs in a couple of months.

The color temperature of light. Most try to replicate that of some famous reef lighting. The 20k Radium for instance.

Many folks think the near total blue is 20k but it’s not. It’s much much higer and in fact not truly a color temperature.

I went to preset 4, and changed the times and intensity. The rest of the presets were just weird.

Basically , hit preset 4 , and go the start time. Then each channel intensity.
The ramp up is only 30 min.
