Colored sand?

Hi,

I am gathering materials for my 55 gallon tank and have gotten to figuring out what kind of sand to get. Black sand sounds like it would be cool, but I have not seen any pictures of a saltwater tanks with black sand or any other types of sand. Are there any reasons not to use colored sand? If not, does anyone have any pictures of colored sand?

i have black sand in mine.. it looks cool for the 1st couple of months but it loses it color quickly, its also magnetized so if you ever bring your magnefloat too close to it it'll pick it up..
honestly just go for the classic white it makes the water look so much clearer i just set up another tank with regular white sand and the difference is incredible.
