Hey everyone, I just wanted to ask some of the more seasoned reef aficionados how they think my reef is looking based on the colors I got going on. The purple, lime green, the blood red I got on the front rock, and the Moss, etc....

Welcome to R2R!

Things look good to me! The green fuzzy stuff could go but looks fine otherwise?

What size tank? How many snails do you have?

I have 5 snails... I actually forgot what kind, they start with an "A", and a few more nassarius snails that snuck in on my newest live rock. I have a diamond watchman goby, a clownfish, a cleaner shrimp, some green hammer coral and some hermit crabs. I have a 32 gallon biocube, and I've been very happy with it. The green fuzzy stuff, does it need to be manually cleaned of or will it go away on its own with regular water changes, etc?

The "A"'s would be Astrea Snails. They are good herbivores that also feed on diatoms. The green fuzzy stuff is called hair algae and it's a normal part of reef maturity, so to speak. Manual removal isn't necessary at this stage. It just takes the proper amount of snails or clean up crew to help. Typically I recommend 1 snail per 2 or 3 gallons for small snails. Then you have some larger ones like Turbo snails. For those I recommend 1 per 10 to 15 gallons. Increasing snails will help remove the algae. You can also get some blue legged hermit crabs to help. They are fun to watch too. Maybe 4 or 5 of the hermits. :)
