I have had it up and running for 12 months now. I was using AI sol for about 8 months and thought that they were the reason that I had very little growth and poor color in my tank So, back in december I purchased a new T-5 fixture. Here are my current specs and would like help to figure out what is going on here so that I can get it to look half way decent. Thank you in advance.

1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.) – Aprox 67 US Gallons
2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.) – Aprox 55 US gallons
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique Kalkwasser in my top off water and BRS 2 part.
4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.) NO
5. Are you using Ozone; NO
6. Are you using UV: NO
7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)Precision Marine RL 175. Rated for 175 gallons
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels : PO4 is 0.02, NO3 is 25
9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels : Ca 416, alk 8.5, Mg 1360
10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)Sump with filter socks and skimmer
11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.) 6x39W Dimmable SunPower T5 High-Output Fixture,
1 x 39W True Actinic
3 x 39W Blue Plus
1 x 39W Coral Plus
1 x 39W Purple Plus
All bulbs and fixture is 4 weeks old.
12. What corals do you keep: Mixed. Mostly zoas and LPS, a few SPS but would like more
13. Tissue color (light or dark) Light with poor color. Even zoas look washed out
14. How long has the tank been running 12 months
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system: I would like growth and increased color in my corals.
16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.) Kalk, Alk, Ca and Mg to maintain levels
17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.) aprox 50 lb.
18. Any present problems Minimal growth and lack of color.
19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.) Besides my lack of growth and loss of color, I have had the few SPS that I do have die or loose color.
20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.) Hanna PO4, Alk, Ca. RED SEA Mg and No3. All are less than 3 months old
21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.)None
22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.) Salinity is stable at 1.026-1.027 with an auto topoff. Temp was recently increased from a stable 77.6 to now its stable at 79.8-80.2
23. Which salt brand do you use Tropic marin BioActif. water changes have been about 10% every 2 weeks.

I have about 35 lbs of live rock that was from a system that I had started about 4 years ago and switched to a 57 gallon tank 12 months ago. 20 extra lbs of live rock was added 12 months ago. The sand was added when I set up my 57 gallon tank and I believe it is aragonite sand. I currently have 2 damsels, a clown and a dotty back. 2 long tenticle nems and a number of snails and hermit crabs.

A little background, I did have a phosphate rise quite a number of months ago. March of last year and I used about 1/4 cup of GFO to bring the PO down. It may have been too much, and I say that because my corals have not looked vibrant since. (March 16th 2012 PO was 1.5) (March 20th PO was .10) March 29 PO was .09) (April 29 PO was .01) I have not run GFO in my tank since May of last year and my PO was as low as 0.00 as tested by Hanna checker.

I did not mention that I have been running Chemi Pure for the last 6 weeks and upon testing again today to check my PO readings, it is at 0.02. Below are some pictures although it is hard to capture the washed out colors. I have raised and lowered my Blue Hornets for example because I thought they were getting too much light but they havent colored up still. Help would be appreciated.

I would say that yopu were giving them tooo much light. water quality with the high po4 woll just brwn them out but not discolor them. i just think its too much light.

My red and blue hornets for example, I have moved them from up high to down low and my blue hornets have actually lost more color in the past 6 weeks after the move.

it may just be the swing in PO4 and with a little time the colors will come back. i have learned my lesson with GFO as I have lost a lot of color becuase of it and now only change it out every 2 months or so. That stuff is a lot stronger that I gave it credit for. Also what is your photoperoid? Try cutting the light back while your reef recovers.

How is your tank. Your problems sound a little like ours. We sent our water to aquarium water testing only thing really out is the potassium. We were using zeovit products also. We have potassium on order and haven't received it yet. Local stores don't carry it.
