Combating Black Hair Alge while installing new AI prime lights.

Soooo I’m in an odd situation. 2 weeks ago I had some nice over time and sprung for new lights. I bought 2 AI 32HD lights to cover a 48 inch long 55 gallon tank. I also travel a bit for work.I returned home today and now I have black hair alge in my tank on quite a few rocks. I had it before always showing up on one rock. I’d rip it off and suck it out during water changes. Now it’s all over the rock on the right side of my tank. From what Ive read the best think for me to do is reduce how much frozen food I’m feeding. Cut my light hours and use something like NoPox. Is this the best course of action? Any advice on fighting the black hair. is it reasonable to install my new lights now? Or should I wait?

How old is the tank and what do you have in it? If you have corals, then reducing your photoperiod and intensity may help.

On the NOPOX, what’s your water parameters?

it has a mix of softies and lips and 2 pcs of SPS
has some easier to keep fish. stormtrooper clown Midas blenny Royal gramma cardinal red wrasse.
