I’m all for controlling nutrients and maintaining high water quality levels, but when you have 120 fish to feed, it can be a challenge. It helps enormously when a subset of those fish eat any algae that dares grow. I occasionally use them to clean off any rocks from the frag tank - they are better than any scrubbing I can manage.

This is one of the things I prefer about larger reef tanks...the ability to have tangs and rabbitfish. Certainly makes algae management easier!

Excluding a lawn mower, What fish can I put in a 75 that will eat algae? I'm vexed ! My last lawnmower preferred the meaty fish food .

The bristletooth tangs (Ctenochaetus sp.) stay small enough for a 4' long 75 gallon tank and they're good algae eaters IME.

No kidding! My PBT keeps my tank nice and clean!!
